    Major new equipment will include:

    Tormach 1100 CNC Mill
    Full Spectrum 60W Laser Cutter/Engraver
    4'x8' CNC Router

Equipment will be arriving and installed over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for additional equipment updates through the next month.  And a huge thank you to the Black Hawk County Gaming Association for all of their community support!

Starting this weekend, the CVMakers will officially begin holding Makerspace membership orientations!  We will be holding a family & friends orientation this weekend to ensure that all of the processes are in place for the orientation, and we'll begin taking sign-ups for orientations each week after the 4th of July holiday weekend!

If you're interested in a Makerspace Membership, be sure to create a free Community Membership to be one of the first to know when orientations are available.

    A few details:

    • The Makerspace will initially have limited hours until a keycard access system and/or additional volunteers can be set up to open the space.  Initial hours will include Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00-9:00pm and Saturdays at 10am-4:00pm, with additional hours to be added as volunteers are able to open the space.
    • We'll also be finishing additional equipment set-up during these next few weeks, so while a majority of equipment will be accessible, not all of the metal working equipment is immediately available for use.
    • Individual memberships and family memberships will be discounted to $25 and $40/month respectively for the time being due to the limited hours of availability. The full membership rates of $40 and $75/month will begin to be charged once additional hours are available, and a member update will be sent out beforehand to inform of the change.

And we are always looking for additional volunteers to help with set-up, operations or provide training/expertise to others members!  If there is any way you would like to be involved or have any questions, please contact us at cedarvalleymakers@gmail.com.

The equipment available in the space includes woodworking, metalworking, welding/cutting, hand tools and 3D printing, plus plenty of assembly and project space.

Tours, snacks and beverages will be provided, and everyone is welcome (including youth!). So stop by, meet some others, and help us celebrate over a year and a half of planning and preparation to bring the space to life.
