Is the Cedar Valley Makerspace a non-profit?
The Cedar Valley Makers, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission to promote collaborative learning, creative design, and manufacturing for people of all ages and skill levels.
Being a 501(c)(3) makes CVM a tax-exempt charitable nonprofit organization. CVM operates for public interest, not private gain.
What is it like working in a shared space?
Cedar Valley Makers is a community of members that share their knowledge and creative processes - making it easier for beginners and experts to build new skills. We utilize the Proximity System to check in and out of the space, and to reserve time on different machines. Slack is also utilized as a way to communicate.
What are the rules of the Makerspace?
Upon becoming a subscribing member at the Cedar Valley Makerspace you'll schedule an orientation to get a tour of the space, go through safety, and learn the rules. You can find a document of our Full CVM Policies under our organizational documents on the Resource page. Depending what membership level you subscribe at, you'll be able to access different tools.
Are there longer storage options for project supplies at the Makerspace?
We have minimal short-term storage options at the Cedar Valley Makerspace. There is also the option to purchase additional personal project storage space as a monthly add-on fee to your subscription membership. Email us at info@cedarvalleymakers.org for more information.
