Cedar Valley Makers is excited about our partnership with Americans for Independent Living (AFIL).
A New Home, A Stronger Mission — CVM + AFIL
AFIL already owned a large building that happened to have 10,000 ++ square foot of underutilized space. Sprinkler and other costly code compliance issues already met, we are finishing the design phase for what promises to be a great space makerspace.
By comparison, CVM at Tech Works has around 7800 square foot of space at Tech Works, but members know that that space is often pieced together and awkward.
The open floor plan at AFIL allows us more of an opportunity to put things where we want, and not where we have to. We expect the finished space will be a step up in almost everyway.

"Cost and resource sharing will make AFIL and CVM, stronger, together"
CVM and AFIL will continue to operate independently, but together we will expand access to tools, training, and community learning. We will both benefit where mission priorities overlap, shared services will reduce operational costs, and we are just starting to identify opportunities where ones efforts can be leveraged for the benefit of both.
Become a Sustaining Member
— Keep the Makerspace Alive
....... and Thriving
One of the most impactful ways to support Cedar Valley Makers is by becoming a sustaining member. Memberships directly keep the lights on, the tools maintained, and the doors open for thousands of learners and creators each year.
Whether you join as a Fab Lab Member ($25/month) or a CVM Maker Member ($50/month), your subscription fuels our mission and gives you access to tools, space, training, and a community of peers.
Even our free Community Membership helps people get connected, explore the space, and begin their maker journey.
Every membership—at every level—strengthens the foundation we’re building with AFIL and helps secure the future of a larger, more capable makerspace for the Cedar Valley.
