
SPINDLE SANDER
The Grizzly Spindle Sander can be used when you become a subscription member at Cedar Valley Makers. We offer a required machine orientation that is required before first use, and that orientation is available anytime as a refresher for free.
This tool/equipment does require the use of safety glasses. Please review this page for resources, the pre-operation checklist, and the post-operation checklist.
Maker skills:
Understanding and safely using the tool for detailed shaping of curves, mastering techniques like: sanding against the spindle's rotation with light, even pressure, and maintaining proper safety habits.
Pre-Operation Checklist:

Read the operation manual and ensure that you know how to safely operate the equipment

Inspect the equipment to make sure the saw is in good working order.

If not, be sure to fix it OR unplug it, tag it, and report it

Spindles are attached using a left thread knurled nut. Lefty tighten - please note that finger tight is plenty. Do NOT overtighten.

Use an appropriately sized insert to support work
Post-Operation Checklist:

Return tables to 90 degrees

Use the dust collection remote to manually start the dust collection

Clean up all saw dust and leave it better than you found it
